pigments for inkjet inks

pigments for inkjet inks
TOYOCOLOR continues to refine its technology for precision processing and dispersion of pigments for applications such as liquid crystal color filter displays and optical filters.
We have prepared pigments for inkjet inks based on these technologies.
This pigments, which is "free from surface treatment" and "free from extender pigments," has the fine primary particle size required for inkjet inks, and exhibits high transmittance, resulting in "good clarity" and "high transparency." brings.
Good clarity is expected with higher tinting strength and better color reproduction range (see diagram). High transparency is expected to have the effect of widening the color reproduction range when multiple colors are combined (e.g. Cyan+Yellow = Green).
You can consider water-based, UV-based, or solvent-based.
This pigments is expected to have functions based on its high transmittance, not only for inkjet ink applications, but also for toners, paints, sensors, stationery, and other applications.

Expected effect

~Characteristics of pigments and effects associated with ink production~

High tinting strength

・Ratio of OD values at the same pigments concentration
・Apply with bar coater on photo glossy paper
・Comparison using Pigment Red 122
High coloring power can be expected due to the fine primary particle size.

Color reproducibility

・Saturation on coated paper
・Comparison using Pigment Red 122
Good color reproducibility can be expected due to the fine primary particle size.

High color rendering

You can expect a good color reproduction range with high transparency and intermediate colors (secondary colors (C+Y, C+M, M+Y)).

[Coating example explanation]

  • This is a coating example from our laboratory test in which color ink was applied with a bar coater onto a black coated object.
  • You can see that the new product (on the right) with a clear black underprint is highly transparent.
  • In the conventional product (on the left), the black underprint is washed out due to the opacity derived from dispersions.

The above functions are achieved through distributed design.

Guidance

  • If you are having trouble designing for dispersibility, storage stability, etc.
After meeting with you, we will consider the options according to your characteristics.
  • water-based Introducing dispersions based on
Water-based dispersions with fine primary particle size is available.
Various sparse water-based retains high storage stability in the presence of water-soluble solvents.
